FAQ
Questions and answers about MorgenLand products
Raw food
Yes, some of the MorgenLand products are available in raw food quality. You can find them here: > Articles in raw food quality
The MorgenLand raw food quality products are gently (sun) dried depending on the country of origin and climatic conditions and usually do not reach a core temperature of more than 45°C. A corresponding logo is found on the packaging.
Nuts & Dried Fruits
Especially with nuts and seeds, it can be useful to add nitrogen as a protective gas when packaging. Otherwise, the fatty acids contained in them react with oxygen and the product can go rancid more quickly. However, with dried fruits that do not contain any fat, the addition of protective gas is not necessary.
No! All dried fruits from MorgenLand are certified organic products, for which the use of sulphur or other questionable substances during cultivation or processing is therefore reliably excluded.
That's a good question. In order for the fig flowers to grow into fruit, they have to be fertilized by certain wasps. These lose their lives in the process. The whole thing is a natural process that cannot be influenced by humans and has nothing to do with the cultivation or processing of figs. The question of whether you as a vegan want to eat figs or not is therefore something you have to answer for yourself.
Coconut products
Coconut water is the liquid inside the coconut. It is relatively clear and low in fat. For MorgenLand coconut water, it is collected immediately after the hard shell of ripe coconuts is opened, briefly heated (pasteurized) and bottled. Coconut water is drunk pure as a thirst quencher. Coconut milk is pressed from the white flesh of the coconut and standardized with water depending on the desired fat content. It is ideal for cooking or as a vegan cream substitute.
Since no emulsifiers are used for MorgenLand organic coconut milk, the white coconut fat can accumulate on the surface over time. Coconut fat is solid at temperatures below 23° C. This is why the solid coconut fat can settle in a can of coconut milk and form a layer on top. This does not affect the quality or taste of the product: on the contrary, this way you know that you are dealing with a natural product. If you heat the coconut milk briefly in a water bath, you can process it as usual.
Unlike other manufacturers, MorgenLand coconut water is made from fully ripe, brown coconuts. Although these contain less of the coveted liquid, it is sweeter in taste. Another advantage: unlike when using green coconuts, the coconut flesh can also be processed further and nothing is wasted.
MorgenLand coconut oil contains around 50% lauric acid, which is the expected content for a high-quality organic coconut oil. This is a normal average value for high-quality coconut oil.
No! The organic coconuts we process are harvested exclusively by humans.
Canned fruit in glass jars
No! For the MorgenLand fruit in a jar, we use fully ripe organic fruits that already have their natural sweetness and full aroma. Therefore, they only need to be subtly rounded off with other fruit juices or our MorgenLand apple sweetener as required.
